Was Bigfoot Captured on an iPhone?

Last week, a video taken by a couple young hikers in Spokane, Washington was uploaded to YouTube. The poster, Samantha13950, claimed that upon reviewing the video at home, they noticed something odd in the background:

“While hiking, we accidentally caught an image of bigfoot walking through the woods. I didn’t even notice until I got home and saw it on the computer! This scarred the crap out of us!”

Since the upload, the video had gotten major media airtime, resulting in over 180,000 individual views on YouTube.  Naturally, this video is  taking it’s fair share of criticisms, as shaky footage of legendary cryptids usually does. But is it a hoax? Samantha, who so far, hasn’t given a public interview or revealed her last name, maintains her story.

In an email exchange with KLXY news, she shared her personal belief regarding sasquatch.

“Someone asked me in the comments section if I believed in Bigfoot before the video,” she wrote. ”I have never given it much thought, but now I’m not so sure. Seem real enough to me.”

So is it genuine? A hoax? A simple case of mistaken identity? It doesn’t appear that we’ll find out any time soon, and until Samantha13950 decides to give a proper interview, it looks like this is all we’ll have to go on.

What do you think?
