Mysterious Creature Washes Ashore in Wales, Help Sought in Identifying Beast

mysteriouscreaturewales

Another year, another batch of mysterious, hairless monster corpses washing up on the beach.

The latest sighting comes from Tenby’s South Beach in Wales, where the discovery of their very own “Montauk Monster” has the locals scratching their heads and looking for help in identifying the beast.

“I have never seen a creature like it,” said Ryan Calvert who sent the photo to The Western Telegraph.

“It was neither fish nor whale. It looked like a horse with claws but seemed to have been skinned.”

A good place to start looking for answers might be in the plenty of previous cases of hairless mystery monsters, which skeptics and monster hunters have believed to be everything from decomposing raccoons to escaped government experiments, respectively.

So, what do you make of the latest mystery creature? Could Wales have it’s own beast? Or is it just a Yorkie weathered by the beach? We want to know what you think. Come share your thoughts with us on our official Facebook page, engage us on twitter @WhoForted, or drop us a comment below!

Looks an awful lot like an European Badger (Meles meles) but cannot be 100% sure given the poor quality of the pictures.

A few suggestion if you find something similar on the beach:

    1) Put something next to it for scale. If you haven’t got anything at hand put your foot next to it and state what shoe size you wear.

    2) Take close-up pictures of paws and teeth. That’s a terrific help in identifying mammals.

    3) Take one picture from above, one from each side, one from ahead and the other from behind. Digital photos are almost free, don’t be a tight one!

Montouk corpse was a dog, according to investigators. This looks very similar but not as decomposed. Hairless condition? Rubbed off from contact with the shore… Dog or not, I feel pity.
