Sasquatch in the Sun: Skunk Ape Photographed in Florida’s Gulf Coast

Did a photographer capture Bigfoot taking a dip in the waters of southwest Florida?

This striking photo was shared on Bigfoot Evidence’s Facebook page last Thursday by Ken S., an IT professional from Cape Coral, Florida.  Ken says that the exact location of the sighting was Pine Island in Lee County, the largest island in Florida, and the perfect place for a large hairy hominid to hide.

The image shows what appears to be a large, hulking creature wading in the waters in Florida’s Gulf Coast, an area that already has a rich history of “Skunk Ape” sightings.

Check out the original photograph below, and let us know what you make of it. Did Ken manage to snap a skinny dipping squatch? Or are we just looking at an oddly shaped tree trunk? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page, on Twitter @WhoForted, or in the comments below!

The investigator in me wants to know if this is the only photo taken? Were there any others taken of the area. At least we know where it’s at and if someone is in the area they can go check it out. But I wonder what was the reason the photographer took the shot anyways? Cause if it was due to the object I would be taking photos like there was no tomorrow. Not just one and be like “Well I have my proof, time to post it to Facebook.”

I’ll play devil’s advocate and say that, as a man with a cell phone camera and the attention span of a sun-dried tomato, trying to take a picture of a moving target can be difficult as hell to take a decent picture of. So it’s possible – POSSIBLE – that this is the only viable photo out of several.

Looks a lot like a human in a heavy coat.

A human in a coat in the waters of southwest Florida?

I thought it looked like that to until I realized the location, now I’m a bit more open to suggestion.

Greg it looks more like a scene from a Robot Chicken style documentary The Creature From the Black Lagoon: the Wilderness Years where he tells how ignoring his agent’s advice to set aside money for the taxman at the height of his fame he blew all his earnings on blowjobs from blowfish while plans to revive his career with a porno remake The Creature From the Blue Lagoon fell apart after Lindsay Lohan revealed he only had a tiddler but still holds out high hopes for a possible cop show Scales of Justice.

Saying all that is it me or is he holding some sort of knife in his right hand?

A couple observations. Winters in Florida can have some cold days. I live in Florida and there were a couple cold spells this year. This could be some guy fishing, cause that water is cold that time of year. It also looks nothing like a hominid. The only hominid this could possibly be is Billy Joe Cracker Boy Bob testing out his new outdoor gear he ordered from Cabelas.

Hate to say it, but this looks like a redneck in a ghillie suit to me.

That was my first thought, but now I’m thinking it looks like a weather balloon filled with swamp gas in a ghillie suit, reflecting the light of venus.

First documented manifestation of a Skepticism Elemental? Hmmmm… Interesting theory.

The torso below the legs is very straight, not any contour to indicate anatomy. Seriously, whose phone or camera does not shoot video? Even sloppy video goes a lot farther as evidence than a still shot of what could be an inanimate object.
There is a tree stump I used to see on my drive home from work that from the right angle would have been simple for me to take a pic of and post as Bigfoot. I could point out the sloping shoulder, saggital crest, the shape of the back, but a simple video would reveal the true nature of the sighting.

I agree with Henry. I look at that and I see a large bottom 1/4 of a tree with a branch sticking out that looks like an arm.

    “Torso below the legs”??
I meant to say torso below the arms.
    Way to go genius!

Did anyone stop to think, “hey it’s 2013 why is this image quality so shitty?”

    10/05/2014 at 12:51 PM

just one idea controls my mind when i take a good look at this picture .. it is the year 2013 when it was shot isn’t it ???
so any one know a current device may give this very poor resolution in these days ???
i think this photo is a total fake one …
