Paranormal Investigators Capture “Impressive Evidence” of Spooks in Ohio Historical Museum

According to a group of paranormal investigators from Ohio, ghosts are haunting a local museum, and the spooky evidence left behind has been enough to convince museum employees that they aren’t alone.

On Saturday, the Wayne County Historical Museum hosted the annual Spirit Academy & Paranormal Investigation, an event during which attendees are welcomed to hone their ghost hunting skills while chasing down phantoms in the reportedly haunted location. How successful were they? If the evidence captured by Spirit Paranormal is to be believed, very.

“In addition to some terrific experiences, there are already two photos that reveal some interesting – haunting – evidence,” the museum staff wrote. “The first photo shows a person sitting in the old hearse in our carriage barn. The second photo shows what appears to be a young person at the back corner of the Wayne County School Hack.”

A glimpse at the first image shows what certainly appears to be the visage of a stern looking woman glaring at the camera from the cabin of the hearse carriage, a sight sure to give even the most seasoned ghost hunters the creeps.

Spirit Paranormal also posted a number of EVPs captured during their investigation, recordings that they claim contain the voices of the dead reacting intelligently to their questions. Investigator Tim Poyner claims that just seconds just after ghost hunters ask the spirits to straighten out a pair of divining rods, that they received a ghostly response whispering “OK”.

And if you thought those captures just weren’t creepy enough, the team would like you to take a look at the crown jewel of last year’s hunt, an even clearer image of what Tim Poyner believes is the same spirit captured in the hearse last week:

Do any of these anomalies prove the existence of life after death? Hardly, but you can’t deny that they’re intriguing. Here’s hoping next year’s outing yields an even higher quota of weird.

So, what do you think? Did the team capture evidence of the afterlife in an Ohio museum? Or is there merely an array of photographic quirks that can explain the creepy images that have freaked out the staff? Let us know what you think! Paranormal Research Rule #32: if someone gives you a cropped photo, there’s something they don’t want you to see.

Haha, well.. I cropped it myself, actually. You can see the originals on the museum website I linked. I just wanted to give people a better look at “the entity” is all. Looks basically the same in the other images.

Damn you, Newkirk, expecting people to click links and stuff. *shakes fist*

Well, they’re definitely eerie faces, but I’m not sure if they’re clear enough to be considered any reliable form of evidence.

That said, if they WERE clear enough for us to see facial features, I’m pretty sure my post would consist of me screaming at the computer in terror.

Greg I was try’n'o recall what these images reminded me of then it hit me the bloated alien corpse in Ray Santilli’s autopsy hoax.

The profile at the bottom’s also got a touch of Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein forehead about it.

I find myself wond’rin’ if we’re really lookin’ at a spirit or a jinn?

You’re right, Alan! Dana recoiled when she saw the images and thought the same. Pretty creepy.

As for Djinn.. someone get Rosemary Ellen Guilley on the horn, she’ll know.

I feel a little guilty for going full skeptic when I saw the pictures but they really struck me as reflections or glares almost immediately.

“You can see the originals on the museum website I linked.” Well, I can see thumbnails at http://waynecountyhistoricalmuseum.org/recent-ghost-hunt-reveals-impressive-evidence, but am not finding any links to quality images. So much for “Recent Ghost Hunt Reveals Impressive Evidence.” :-p

The images that they show at the museum’s website do not show any kind of evidence. The images are actually smaller and can’t click on them to make them bigger, so to me, that is not real evidence.

Could have sworn there was a big link there. Check out Spirit Paranormal on Facebook, they have some full size versions posted there.

With some 40 years investigating all sorts of weird, strange things I am now a full blown sceptic. Yes, I have photographed what looks like the shadow man and other strange images. Yet, I have not seen any substantial evidence to prove there is anything extraordinary out there. A camera, whether film or digital, does nothing more than capture light. And our minds seem to naturally locate things that look like a face or something recognizable. The best of the best have only captured grainy, faint images of reflections, shadows and so forth. if these photos are the best evidence collected to date then we are still far from proving anything……. We want to believe so bad that we see things- and after hours and days and even years of scouring around in the dark we start to grab ahold of anything that comes close to looking like a person, a monster, a ghost. We purposely set the stage for a paranormal event, lights out, talking in whispers. Not so unlike kids getting ready to tour the haunted house tour, our minds are already prepared to see or hear that whatever in the middle of the dark, creepy night. Hardly a stage set to do legitimate research to find anything.

Not necessarily. Some of us have seen things going about our daily lives. I was just telling a friend recently of the importance of being clear-headed and having no expectations when out and about in supposed ‘haunted’ surroundings. If you do all of the things you’ve written then you may want to change your technique.

I just don’t see why the dead would hang around in a creepy museum.

Plenty of other things to do when you’re dead, right?
