Residents of the small town of Rachel, Nevada have kept their eyes on the skies since a UFO sightings started cropping up in the 40′s, but as it turns out, an invasion wouldn’t be instigated by little green men from outer space.. but by Neo-Nazi extremists.

The town of Rachel, most famous for it’s location – just a stone throw away from the infamously secretive Area 51 base, has long been a sort of mecca for flying saucer enthusiasts. Every year, people travel from all over the world to whisper conspiracies at the Lil A’Le’Inn, dig into research at the Area 51 Research Center, and hope for a brush with the unknown at any number of of the town’s UFO hot spots.

When a mysterious out of towner began buying up property around Rachel, locals began to wonder if it was a secret plot to wrestle control of the town, but after the stranger bought and promptly closed the local RV park and gas station, they knew that something was up.

“It was the only gas station in town,” Pat Travis, owner of the Lil A’Le’Inn told reporters. “Now we keep a little gas for emergency purposes, for people who don’t pay attention to the sign that the next store is 150 miles.”

As it turns out, the property is being purchased by the JHM Church, but don’t let the harmless-sounding name fool you.. according to watch dog groups, JHM Church is categorized as a white supremacist outfit, “in the same category with the KKK and racist skinheads.”

“Their church is identified by the experts as Christian identity and neo-Nazi. And those two little niches are the most dangerous, I’m told,” one local told Channel 8.

The discovery has Rachel residents nervous that the group may be planning to build a white supremacist compound in the area, a concern that only grew when suited FBI investigators began showing up and questioning them about their ties to neo-Nazi groups.

Now the future of America’s top destination for UFO enthusiasts, a town featured in countless books, films, and television shows, is in question, making locals wonder if they’ll soon need to move out, or swap their tin foil hats for bullet proof vests.

What do you think? Is Will Rachel, Nevada go from a UFO hotspot to a white supremacist enclave? Would you still visit the town with a growing neo-Nazi population? Let us know what you think on Facebook, on twitter @WhoForted, or in the comments below.

It’s fitting that Rachel, NV is home to a giant portrait of The Colonel.

To butcher a Humphrey Bogart quote from Casablanca:

“Major, there are parts of [Nevada] that I wouldn’t advise even the Nazi’s to invade.”

Seems like the perfect place for them- away from everyone else and within easy reach of the military. Let ‘em have it.

If they all they meet together in one place and that place happens to blow up couldn’t that be pinned on the aliens? And would it be wrong?
