It Came From Above (Or Did It?): Solving the “Sky Noise” Mystery

The world is a noisy place these days. Is it thunder, fireworks, earthquake sounds? Could it be HAARP, the magnetic poles shifting, the earth moaning cause, you know, it’s old and stuff…? Obviously, it may be horns from heaven, heralding the coming Apocalypse… Or alien spacecraft. Or Bigfoot. Or, maybe it’s just the normal noises around here..

Hairless Freaks! Casting A Critical Eye Toward “Mystery Animals”

Hairless animals are weird looking. Hairless dead animals freak people the hell out. Hairless monkeys? Sad. Hairless humanoids (no matter how lame) make people panic. Hairless coyotes, foxes, dogs, raccoons, yada, yada, yada? They are now called chupacabras…

Ryan Buell’s Bogus Journey: A Most Excellent Review

Ryan Buell wants to believe. Paranormal State was not a “reality documentary” show that he says it is, but a paean to his will to believe and the producers’ efforts to convince the viewer to believe too. I want to believe in cool, spooky stuff too but I guess I have higher standards for evidence [...]

That article is “Gnome Hunters: Skeptics and ‘You’ People.”

Dissemination of an Urban Legend

Have you ever wondered where urban legends come from? Have you wondered how is it that they can manage evolve into ageless tales that we whisper to so many others so they, in turn, can whisper it in the ears of even more people still? Elvis Podvorac of Toronto’s ‘Shadows Project’ has wondered the same thing…

This Call Cannot Be Completed

Lately there have been a few people (most notably the relatively unknown Chistopher Moon) using a few devices that supposedly open two-way communication with the deceased. While this is not a new claim in the paranormal by any means, they do claim one unique thing : that the device was invented by Thomas Edison.

So was Edison really working on a telephone to the dead before his death? The Rocky Mountain Paranormal Society does a little digging for the truth.
